North Platte Area Sports Commission 4th Annual Tanking Race
March 28, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 2:00 pm| $4 – $140
The 4th Annual North Platte Area Sports Commission Tanking Race is an exciting adventure in the middle of winter… in a stock tank. It’s up to the weather man to determine if we wear shorts or a parka on this 2 mile trek down the Platte River from Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area to Cody Park.
This event is an annual fundraiser for the North Platte Area Sports Commission and helps fund and support sports tourism driving events into our community each year.
Cost: $140/team of 4
Each participant gets swag, a free drink and 20% off at Pals Brewing Company
Prizes Sponsored by North Platte/Lincoln County Visitors Bureau, Pals Brewing Company, and Dusty Trails
Fastest Tank – $200 + a sweet trophy + bragging rights!
2nd Fastest Tank – $40 Pals Gift Card
Best Decorated Tank/Costume – $200 + a sweet trophy!
PLOT TWIST: This year, we’re adding a unique twist. There will be challenge(s) along your route where 1 or more of your team will have to get out of the tank. WHICH MEANS YOU WILL GET WET! Failure to complete the challenge(s) will result in loss time.
You will be provided with Tanks, Oars, and Life Jackets. During check-in you will receive your swag, a beer token and coupon for redemption at Pal’s following the race (21+ only) for each team member and plastic bags for cell phones, keys, etc…. Your team captain will have the tank assignment in his or her bag. PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER! It is strongly recommended that 1 or more of your team members wear waders or muck boots. The level of the water fluctuates and there will be sandbars to get stuck in. AGAIN – YOU WILL BE GETTING OUT OF THE TANK AND GETTING WET!
