The Nebraska Siege is Grand Island's new professional arena indoor football franchise in "The Arena League". This league is known for fast paced, high scoring action without kickoffs or kickers. Games will be held in the Heartland Events Center with the season Summer 2026. The inaugural season will kick off May 30 and has hired their head coach in Dominic Bramante Bramante has two decades of coaching experience and helped build the Duke City Gladiators into back to back champions in 2018 and 2019. The 4‑H Shooting Sports National Championships is held each June in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the Heartland Public Shooting Park. The event is hosted by Nebraska 4‑H. 4‑H youth from across the country will compete in compound archery, recurve archery, air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle, .22 pistol, shotgun, muzzleloading, and hunting skills.
