We are charting a route of approximately 150 miles and over 10,000+ ft of climbing – adventuring through the rural farmlands of Southeastern Nebraska. Overall Male and Female win the title of Captain of the Gravel Seas, World Champions Jersey, and Sword Trophy. World Championship jerseys are up for grabs in all gender and age categories.

  • GoSarpy.com Volleyball Classic

    Lied Activity Center 2700 Arboretum Drive, Bellevue, NE, United States

    The GoSarpy.com Volleyball Classic, hosted by Bellevue University, continues to be one of the largest regular season volleyball tournaments in NAIA. Anywhere from 18-24 collegiate teams travel to Bellevue from across the country each year, in what what is one of the most competitive tournaments of the volleyball season.

  • Nebraska State Fair – Ultimate Bull Riding

    Nebraska State Fair 501 E Fonner Park Rd, Grand Island, NE, United States

    Come out to the Nebraska State Fair and check out Ultimate Bull Riding - A rodeo sport where a rider gets on a bucking bull and attempts to stay mounted while animal tries to buck off the rider  “most dangerous 8 seconds in sports”.  This will take place at 7:00pm.

  • Nebraska State Fair – Ultimate Bull Fighting

    Come out to the Nebraska State Fair and check out Ultimate Bull Fighting - A physical contest with humans and bulls to subdue and immobilize the bull.  This event will take place at 7:00pm.

  • Nebraska State Fair – Marathon

    Nebraska State Fair 501 E Fonner Park Rd, Grand Island, NE, United States

    Come out to the Nebraska State Fair and compete in the Marathon.  It is a Boston qualifier on a USATF course certification, where water stations and snacks provided.  Several different age divisions (see website) will compete with Male Female Co-ed, Cash prizes and medals.   Spectators must purchase a ticket to watch beginning and ending of the race. Events include:  Marathon, ½ Marathon, Relay Marathon, 5K, 1 Mile Kid Run, Push Rim Wheelchair, Handcycle Divisions Check-in is from 5:00-7:00am.  Start time is at 7:00am and last approximately until 12:30pm

    Come out to the Nebraska State Fair and check out High School Rodeo where you will see competitions including Bareback, Bull riding,  Saddle Bronc, Barrel Racing, Breakaway, Goat Tying, Pole Bending, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Girls Cutting, Tie Down, and Boys Cutting.

    The NFCA's Leadoff Classics gather top collegiate and high school teams from around the country for highly competitive softball action at one site. The NFCA currently endorses high school tournaments in Texas, California, Florida, Georgia and Nebraska.

  • NSAA Class A State Girls Golf Championships

    Riverside Golf Club 2820 Riverside Drive, Grand Island, NE, United States

    The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) and Grand Island Tourism are hosting the Class A Girls State Golf Championships.  Girls will compete in their respective districts–qualifying to compete in the State Championship.  Athletes will play 18 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.  Awards and medals will be presented to teams and individuals at the end of rounds Tuesday.

  • Flatwater Fracas Wrestling Event 2024

    Heartland Event Center and Fonner Park 700 East Stolley Park Road, Grand Island, NE, United States

    This is a premier wrestling event in the state of Nebraska.  20+ Teams over a 2 day event.  They will be celebrating the 18th anniversary of the Flatwater Fracas.  Teams from Nebraska, Kansas, Wyoming, and Colorado will be competing.  Boys and Girls will be competing.  The following cities have been involved in the past:  Grand Island Sr High, Northwest, Kearney,  Lexington, Lincoln East, Lincoln Southwest Minden, Norfolk, Papillion LaVista South, Seward, Wood River, Bellevue West, Blair,  Bennington, Columbus, Gretna East, Hastings, Lincoln Southwest, Lincoln Southeast, Waverly   Out of state teams include:  Manhattan, Eagle Crest, Garden City, Smith Center, Cheyenne East.
