SUMMARY:Summer Volleyball Classic Series
DESCRIPTION:The first event of our 2023 series of volleyball events will be held in LaVista\, NE. Our tournament headquarters is located at The Volleyball Academy. This 8-court facility has served as our tournament venue for the past two summers. \nAll teams will have three rounds of pool play followed by being seeded into Divisional brackets to conclude the event. During the three rounds of pool play\, we will place teams into pools of 4. Teams will play a minimum of 10 matches over the course of two days. All matches will be two out of three sets to 25\, with the third set to 15. No caps\, and teams must win by two. \nAfter the second round of pool play\, teams will be slowly “filtered” to pair teams with teams of the same caliber. This allows teams two rounds to “establish” themselves before being filtered to divisions within the divisions.

The Pokercycle is an 11-ish mile bicycle ride\, open to all ages\, utilizing multi-use trails in North Platte\, including some on-road\, multi-use and gravel trails. This is NOT a race. \nSaturday\, April 8th\nRegistration/Check-in : 1PM\nPokercycle Begins : 2 PM \nStart/Finish\, hosted by:\nPals Brewing Company\n4520 S Buffalo Bill Ave.\, North Platte \n  \nAdvance Registration ………. $25/rider \nDeadline to register online 11:59PM on 4/7/23 \nDay of Registration ………… $35/rider \nRegister By March 13th to be guaranteed a FREE Safety/Tire Patch Kit! \n  \nHow to Play? \n– This is not a race for who can finish the fastest. SUMMARY:National Archery in the Schools (NASP) Western Regional Tournament
DESCRIPTION:More than 275 Nebraska schools currently offer the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) for their 4-12 grade students. Each year more than 30\,000 Nebraska students participate in a NASP course in their math\, history or physical education class\, and the program continues to expand. For youth participants\, one of the highlights of NASP is participating in the state archery tournament each spring in Lincoln. \nNebraska Game and Parks schedules teacher training workshops as needed. Training workshops generally last eight hours and have been incorporated into teacher in-service workshops in many districts. Once completed\, teachers receive national certification to teach basic target archery. Grants for equipment are available for interested schools. \nThe benefits of archery to youth are numerous and included enhanced self-esteem\, self respect and patience; development of fine motor skills; and greater enjoyment of P.E. class\, including for youth who are physically impaired or disabled. Additionally\, boys and girls participate — and excel — in archery at similar rates. More information on the program and the benefits of archery is available on the official NASP website.
