DESCRIPTION:The 2025 AVCA First Serve will feature a star-studded lineup of 10 Division I women’s volleyball teams\, who will play in a series of matches at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln\, Nebraska\, on Aug. 22–24\, and at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls\, South Dakota\, on Aug. 25. \nThe field for this year’s AVCA First Serve includes five teams that made the final eight in the 2024 NCAA Championship\, including three semifinalists and last year’s champion\, Penn State. In addition to the Nittany Lions\, host Nebraska\, Creighton\, Florida\, Kansas\, Minnesota\, Pittsburgh\, Stanford\, Texas A&M\, and Vanderbilt will compete. \n“The AVCA is very excited to bring such a fantastic group of teams to the Midwest for four days of outstanding volleyball\,” says AVCA CEO Dr. Jaime Gordon. “There are so many great storylines\, and AVCA First Serve will kick off what will be another great season of women’s college volleyball in style.” \nOn Friday\, Aug. 22\, the Huskers will face Pittsburgh\, and Stanford will play Florida. Saturday’s matches in Lincoln include Penn State vs. Creighton and Kansas vs. Vanderbilt. Florida\, Nebraska\, Pittsburgh\, and Stanford will be back in action Sunday\, with Nebraska facing Stanford and Florida taking on Pittsburgh. \nIn addition to the marquee teams\, the four days of action will include plenty of firsts: the first matches at new schools for coaches Dani Busboom-Kelly of Nebraska\, Ryan Theis of Florida\, and Matt Ulmer of Kansas. It will be Vanderbilt’s first match as the school relaunches its volleyball program\, and the Lincoln matches represent the first time college volleyball will be played at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

DESCRIPTION:Our premiere hot air ballooning event originated in Western Nebraska in the 1980’s and was ‘re-inflated’ in 2015 after many years without an event. This year’s 11th anniversary of the re-inflation will kick off in extra special fashion as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our local Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) by lighting up the skies of their campus with an evening balloon glow. Flyover Brewing Company is hosting the second annual Flyover to Flyover: A Gravel Party on June 28! We’ll start the day at Flyover Brewing Company in downtown Scottsbluff and make our way to Flyover Brewing Company – Hangar 39 in Potter\, Nebraska.\nWe’ll traverse some of the same gravel roads used by Robidoux and the USA Cycling Gravel National Championships and add in some more gravel to make our way to Potter. DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Women’s Open often is regarded as one of the most challenging events in the sport of bowling\, featuring a 56-game marathon on demanding playing conditions to determine the finalists and winner of the coveted green jacket. \nCompetitors at the U.S. Women’s Open bowl 32 qualifying games over four days before the field is cut to the top 24 players for round-robin match play. At the conclusion of match play\, 56-game totals\, including 30 bonus pins for each win in match play\, determine the players advancing to the stepladder finals. \nParticipants earn their spots primarily through invitations based on their on-lane performances during the previous year. Players also can earn their spot through a pre-tournament qualifier before the start of the tournament.

DESCRIPTION:Nebraska USA Wrestling (Nebraska Kids Wrestling Federation) is a non-profit organization that promotes amateur wrestling to all Nebraska wrestlers from little kids to adults. NEUSAW educates\, promotes\, and structures wrestling in both collegiate and international styles. We are dedicated to the improvement of all phases of Nebraska Wrestling. We are an affiliate of the national organization USA Wrestling\, the national governing body for international-style amateur wrestling in the United States. \nWe are the designated representative for USA Wrestling in the State of Nebraska. It is our responsibility to carry out the guidelines and directives as set forth by USA Wrestling in the administration of this State. Both athletes and coaches may become members of USA Wrestling\, and wrestling clubs may apply for charters from USA Wrestling. We also provide event sanctioning.
