DESCRIPTION:The 4th Annual North Platte Area Sports Commission Tanking Race is an exciting adventure in the middle of winter… in a stock tank. It’s up to the weather man to determine if we wear shorts or a parka on this 2 mile trek down the Platte River from Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area to Cody Park. \nThis event is an annual fundraiser for the North Platte Area Sports Commission and helps fund and support sports tourism driving events into our community each year. \nCost: $140/team of 4\nEach participant gets swag\, a free drink and 20% off at Pals Brewing Company \nPrizes Sponsored by North Platte/Lincoln County Visitors Bureau\, Pals Brewing Company\, and Dusty Trails\nFastest Tank – $200 + a sweet trophy + bragging rights!\n2nd Fastest Tank – $40 Pals Gift Card\nBest Decorated Tank/Costume – $200 + a sweet trophy! \nPLOT TWIST: This year\, we’re adding a unique twist. There will be challenge(s) along your route where 1 or more of your team will have to get out of the tank. WHICH MEANS YOU WILL GET WET! Failure to complete the challenge(s) will result in loss time.\nYou will be provided with Tanks\, Oars\, and Life Jackets. During check-in you will receive your swag\, a beer token and coupon for redemption at Pal’s following the race (21+ only) for each team member and plastic bags for cell phones\, keys\, etc…. SUMMARY:American Cornhole Organization Master Series Major Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The North Platte Area Sports Commission and the American Cornhole Organization has teamed up to bring you the ACO Master Series Major Cornhole Tournament this January. On Friday\, January 10th\, the ACO will host 4 of its 6 divisions – Juniors\, Seniors\, Women’s\, and Co-ed. Saturday\, January 12th\, is going to be the “big dance” where competitors will compete in the World Doubles and Singles. These 2 divisions are the most popular in the ACO and usually have the most talented and experienced players. Majors are only a points-earning tournament to qualify for Worlds in July\, so to spice up the competition\, The North Platte Area Sports Commission and The North Platte/Lincoln County Visitors Bureau has put in $3\,000 cash purse. Each division will get a piece of the total prize. In 2019\, over 117 competitors from Colorado\, Arkansas\, Missouri\, Tennessee\, Iowa\, Indiana\, Kansas\, Las Vegas\, and California came to Nebraska for the first Great North Conference Major Tournament. The event is FREE to come watch. Onsite concession stands provided by a local 13U baseball team\, Rowdy Rott BBQ\, and a bar provided by the Longhorn Bar. \nRegistration fees depend on what division you compete in. DESCRIPTION:With the growing popularity of Cornhole or ”Bag Toss” in the North Platte area\, the North Platte Sports Commission has teamed up with local American Cornhole League (ACL) regional director\, Jen McDermott from Kearney\, to bring you a Midwest Regional Cornhole Tournament at the D&N Event Center. The American Cornhole League is different from other organizations\, as it encourages all ages and skill levels to compete\, at the level that you belong in! So no more competing against the big shots you see on ESPN! Competition levels include: Advanced (for the really\, really good ones)\, Competitive\, and Social (for your average back-yard players). \nFriday\, December 13th at the D&N Event Center\, we will kick things off with a Blind Draw Tournament – 100% payout to the Top 3 + bonus prize money! Cost is $10 per person to enter. Registration begins at 6PM with tournament starting at 7PM. \nGrab your ugliest sweater and join us on Saturday\, December 14th for the ACL Singles and Doubles Tournaments. Registration for Doubles starts at 9am\, with competition starting at 10am. Registration for Singles will begin at 12pm (noon)\, with competition starting at 1pm. Payouts and cost per team/person vary by competition level and division. The North Platte/Lincoln County Visitors Bureau has added in some BONUS prize money for a bit of a game changer… an additional $1\,550 will be added to the existing payout! Plus\, the Top 3 will walk away with a sweet trophy!
