The Pokercycle is an 11-ish mile bicycle ride\, open to all ages\, utilizing multi-use trails in North Platte\, including some on-road\, multi-use and gravel trails. This is NOT a race. \nSaturday\, April 8th\nRegistration/Check-in : 1PM\nPokercycle Begins : 2 PM \nStart/Finish\, hosted by:\nPals Brewing Company\n4520 S Buffalo Bill Ave.\, North Platte \n  \nAdvance Registration ………. $25/rider \nDeadline to register online 11:59PM on 4/7/23 \nDay of Registration ………… $35/rider \nRegister By March 13th to be guaranteed a FREE Safety/Tire Patch Kit! \n  \nHow to Play? \n– This is not a race for who can finish the fastest. However\, you will have 3 hours to complete the route in order for your score to count.\n– Along the route\, there will be a number of stations from organizations\, clubs or businesses in which you may be required to complete a riddle\, task\, challenge\, etc… for a chance to win an extra prize sponsored by that organization\, club or business.\n– At each station the rider will also receive a colored poker chip. SUMMARY:National Archery in the Schools (NASP) Western Regional Tournament
DESCRIPTION:More than 275 Nebraska schools currently offer the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) for their 4-12 grade students. Each year more than 30\,000 Nebraska students participate in a NASP course in their math\, history or physical education class\, and the program continues to expand. For youth participants\, one of the highlights of NASP is participating in the state archery tournament each spring in Lincoln. \nNebraska Game and Parks schedules teacher training workshops as needed. Training workshops generally last eight hours and have been incorporated into teacher in-service workshops in many districts. Once completed\, teachers receive national certification to teach basic target archery. Grants for equipment are available for interested schools. \nThe benefits of archery to youth are numerous and included enhanced self-esteem\, self respect and patience; development of fine motor skills; and greater enjoyment of P.E. class\, including for youth who are physically impaired or disabled. Additionally\, boys and girls participate — and excel — in archery at similar rates. More information on the program and the benefits of archery is available on the official NASP website.

The Pokercycle is an 10-ish-mile bicycle ride\, open to all ages\, utilizing multi-use trails in North Platte\, including some on-road\, multi-use and gravel trails. There will be activity stations placed along the route from various North Platte organizations or business sponsors\, for a chance to win extra prizes. This is NOT a race.\nHow to Play?\n• This is not a race for who can finish the fastest. SUMMARY:Rail Yard Ringer Horseshoe Tour
DESCRIPTION:The North Platte Area Sports Commission is excited to partner with the local North Platte Pitchers Club to bring a new event to the Midwest. The Rail Yard Ringer Open Horseshoe Tournament will occur at the Horseshoe Pitching Facility located on the East end of Cody Park on September 11th & 12th\, 2021. This is the debut appearance for The Horseshoe Tour\, sanctioned by the (NHPA) National Horseshoe Pitchers Association\, for the Midwest area as most of the Horseshoe Tour events happen in states such as North and South Carolina\, Louisiana\, and Nevada. The Horseshoe Tour was originated in 2009 and consists of 3 divisions\, the Prime 40’\, Prime 30’ and the Open Division. The two “Prime Divisions” are the Horseshoe Tour’s featured divisions where players with averages above 40% compete in a unique format including: 30 shoe games\, ringers only\, a qualifying round on Saturday\, and finals on Sunday. While players are competing for the Title\, all players from top to bottom [in the Prime Division] will receive a payout\, based on pitching performances during the event. The Rail Yard Ringer will also be involved at a certain level with the tour “Big Game” points race\, which involves accumulated points throughout all locations on the 2021 Horseshoe Tour schedule and provides a “bonus” payout at the end of the year. The “Open Divisions” were added to allow players with lower averages to participate in the same format as the prime divisions\, but with restrictions and a smaller payout.
