SUMMARY:North Platte Area Sports Commission 4th Annual Tanking Race!
DESCRIPTION:The 4th Annual North Platte Area Sports Commission Tanking Race has now been converted to much more than just an exciting adventure on a 2-mile trek down the Platte River\, in a stock tank… Because of the previous “unplanned” Plot Twist of Covid-19- we’re going to try this again… with a little different Plot Twist.\nCost: $140/team of 4\nIf you register by (11:30PM) on September 23rd.\nRegistrations received after September 23rd will increase to $180 and may not be guaranteed a long sleeve t-shirt.\nEach participant will also receive a beer token for Pals Brewing Company (for team members 21+ only)\, a certificate for 1 free pumpkin (valued at $5) at Dusty’s Pumpkin Patch\nYou will be provided with Tanks\, Oars\, and Life Jackets. During check-in each Team Member will receive swag\, a beer token for Pals Brewing Company (for team members 21+ only)a certificate for 1 free pumpkin (valued at $5 or less) at Dusty’s Pumpkin Patch\, and plastic bags for cell phones\, keys\, etc…. Your team captain will have the tank assignment in his or her bag. PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER! It is strongly recommended that 1 or more of your team members wear waders or muck boots. The level of the water fluctuates and there will be sandbars to get stuck in. AGAIN – YOU WILL BE GETTING OUT OF THE TANK AND GETTING WET!\nFastest Tank – $200 + a sweet trophy + bragging rights!\nBest Decorated Tank/Costume – $200 + a sweet trophy!\nPrizes Sponsored by North Platte/Lincoln County Visitors Bureau\, Pals Brewing Company\, and Dusty Trails\nPLOT TWIST: In addition to racing down the Platte River from Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area to Cody Park\, each Team will be responsible for decorating a pumpkin… while you race! Each Team will be provided One Pumpkin and One Mystery Bag filled with Decorating Supplies. No other decorating supplies allowed. Judging will take place at Pals Brewing Company before the awards. A Pals Gift Card will be awarded for the team with the Best Decorated Pumpkin!\nSchedule of Events:\n9:00AM Pals will open for beverages-to-go\n9:30AM Bus will arrive at Pals Brewing Company to shuttle participants to Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area. If you choose to ride the bus\, please arrive to Pals by 9:15AM. Bus will leave no later that 9:40AM. If you choose to drive yourself\, please have a State Park Permit and all Team Members must arrive to Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area by 10AM.\n9:45-10:15AM Registration/Tank Assignments\n10-10:45AM Participants are allowed to begin decorating your tank. You will have approximately 45 minutes.\n10:45AM Pre-race Meeting\n11:00AM Launch will be a staggered from Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area to Cody Park.\nOnce all racers have passed the finish line\, EVERYONE will report to Pals for awards and Pumpkin judging. Transportation will be provided from Cody Park to Pals for awards. Estimated time of arrival is 1PM. The Fastest Tank is based on time\, rather than who crosses the finish line first! No one will know their time until awards! Pumpkin Judging will take place at Pals Brewing Company\, before the awards.\nViewing Areas:\n1. Launch at Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area\n2. Viewing at Rivers Edge Golf Course (Hole #1)\n3. Finish at Cody Park/HWY 83 River Bridge\n**A State Park Permit is required if you are going to drive yourself (or spectators) to Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area. Permits will be available for purchase the day of event on site. A 1-Day pass is $6 for NE Vehicles and a 1-Year pass is $31.**\nThis event is an annual fundraiser for the North Platte Area Sports Commission and helps fund and support sports tourism driving events into our community each year.

DESCRIPTION:The Chris Jarvis Memorial Autumn River Run is one of the signature races of the Platte River Fitness Series. The Autumn River Run courses for the 5K\, Half-Marathon and Marathon feature an expansive view of the North Platte Trails Network and the unique tunnels\, underpasses and overpasses featured throughout the trail system. Online Registration available through the Platte River Fitness Series or Paper registration will be available beginning July 1 at the North Platte Recreation Center\, 1300 McDonald Road. \n5K ENTRY FEE: $25\nHALF-MARATHON ENTRY FEE: $45\nMARATHON ENTRY FEE: $85 \nRegistration\, fees and deadlines\nWe do NOT add additional fees at time of registration.\n5K Entry Fee: $25\nHalf-Marathon Entry Fee: $45\nMarathon Entry Fee: $85 \nPacket pick-up times and locations\nSaturday night packet pick-up:\n5-8 p.m. at North Platte Rec Center\, 1300 S.
